Murmurs on the Krakow Express

I've been playing around with all the left overs and out-takes from my recent Polish railway trips, and put them altogether along with some photos into a short film. I'm no Speilburg so don't expect too much; but it's an interesting view of foreign rail travel, and just a bit of a change from the norm.

All aboard! (Position cursor over video screen for controls).

Music: Bach Toccata performed by Sky, 1980.

  1. Very interesting sequence...really good to see something different. The blue loco in the start of the film reminds me a bit of the Locos on the old Woodhead line...same uncompromising look of brute power. Probably my imagination, but at that intermediate station were the figures Preiser items...?

Great film...Poland looks fascinating, thanks for posting this.

  2. I thought I'd seen those people before! Quite a few Polish locos resemble BR designs, the locos that hauled me to and from Krakow had class 81/ 85 written all over them - yellow fronts and headcodes; who knows? There was a fascinating Polish Railways book for sale in the town I stayed at; decided to treat myself but unfortunately shops shut at 1pm on Saturdays, and that was my last day ... Oh well, maybe next time...
